Truth be told, I’ve never actually hosted a Kentucky Derby party. Sure, we’ve mad mint juleps and watched the race a few times; but there hasn’t ever been and big hat wearing or betting going on in my home. Someday that’ll change, someday!
If you however are in fact hosting a little soiree ( the derby is hands down the shortest sporting event, I’m sure of it ) then you’ll want to print out our calling cards and make your own derby garland. The idea here is that each guest picks their favorite horse or two and I won’t tell anyone if you decide to offer incentives ( ahem, cash money ) for those participating.
Kentucky Derby Garland Tutorial
Supplies:
Tassel Garland Kit, Printed Cards, Twine, Tiny Clothe Pins
Instructions:
1. Assemble Tassel Garland Per Instructions and hag above bar or near entry way.
2. Clip out jockey cards
3. Hang Additional Twine on top of tassel garland & pin derby cards to twine.
4. Instruct guests to select their preferred contestant and see who the lucky winner is!
