With Cinco de Mayo fast approaching, I figured now was as good a time as any to share one of my favorite, classic margarita recipes! I consider myself quite the ‘rita aficionado, but sometimes you just can’t beat a refreshing lime margarita, on the rocks with salt on the rim. A classic lime margarita is beyond simple to make, too. My recipe below calls for Grand Marnier, but if you don’t have on hand, you can absolutely substitute with orange liqueur. ¡Olé!
How to make a classic lime margarita recipe
For this Classic Lime Margarita recipe you’ll start by adding ice to a shaker along with 1.5 oz tequila, 1 oz grand marnier {or orange liqueur}, and 2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice. Shake vigorously until the liquid is thoroughly mixed, and chilled. Pour over a rocks glass that has been rimmed with coarse salt. Enjoy!
