Holiday Brunch Ideas

I really love any excuse to put on a fancy dress and go out dancing, but as a lady nearing her 30’s I realize not all of my friends are still down. In fact some of them are having families & just can’t to the all night rager anymore. I can’t blame them, but want to make sure I can still include them in some New Year’s fun!

I thought it’d be fun to host a New Year’s brunch instead of the New Year’s Eve midnight shindig. I set up a little bevvy & snack station, complete with sparkling wine! I kept the food simple & light. Knowing that most of us like to start the year with healthy habits in mind, I offered BLT wraps & herb shortbread. The BLT is a carb free dish & is served with a tangy lemon dijon dipping sauce. I chose to serve the Freixenet Sweet Cuvee, with the tangy dijon sauce in mind. The Cuvee is pleasantly sweet, but you could serve the more traditional corodon negro too.

Oh and if you were wondering about how to pronounce Freixenet it’s “fresh-eh-net”.

To bring a little bit of party to the brunch, I threw some confetti on this lucite tray before setting out glasses and the sparkling wine. The design and colors of the ‘Black Bottle Bubble’ is perfect for traditional New Year’s Eve decor!

Who says the holidays are the only time for bubbles? Make it your resolution to sparkle 365 days of the year with Freixenet cavas. Our sparkling wines come in a variety of different styles to suit any moment or mood. Cordon Negro Brut, our classic Black Bottle Bubbly, is great as an aperitif before a night out on the town or at home with takeout pizza. Our brand new Cordon Negro Sweet Cuvee is the perfect match for brunch favorites like pancakes and eggs benedict.
