Although it is already the third of January, I still wanted to share a few of the details from our NYE party. It was a kickin celebration and worth mentioning on the blog. I mean, celebrating the beginning of a new year is awesome! It is a time to be reflective, hopeful and party like rock stars. This is the 3rd NYE party Aaron and I have thrown as a couple, and this year we were a married couple!
A photo booth made its debut last year and I knew it would make a repeat appearance this year. It is a great way to capture the mood of the evening and get guests excited about posing in front of the camera. I chose to use a sequined fabric back drop with a sweet little Tassel Garland at the top. The gold sparkle on the fabric really added the glitz and glam deemed necessary for a NYE party. The photobooth props are from Little Retreats – which I’m now slightly addicted to! Her props are high quality and ones that I’ll keep for the next event.
Those that know me well understand that I’m not a huge sweets fan. I will always have them at parties, but they just don’t get me too jolly. I’d prefer a savory dip or sandwich. For the sweets I ordered extra large, glittery champagne flavored marshmallows from Sweet Jumbles. AMAZING! I will most definitely be ordering again. These marshmallows were dense, flavorful, and divine. Not to mention they are available with gold sprinkles on top!
The ruffled table runner tutorial can be found on bird’s party blog.
Sweeties by Kim kindly crafted chocolate covered Oreos – which were also a smashing hit.
For the real food we set up a DIY mashed potato bar. I’ve had huge success with interactive beverage bars, but wanted to take this idea to the food table. This DIY mashed potato bar allowed guests to customize their martini glass of potatoes with a variety or toppings. We opted for – cheddar, chives, salsa, jalepenos, pepperoni, bacon, sour cream, pesto, butter, salt, pepper, and crushed pepper flakes. This would be perfect for all types of events.
I embellished party horns with glitter tape to coordinate with my color palette and used the printable from One Charming Party for the confetti poppers.
Glitter Swizzle sticks made by Desserts and Designs. These are going to rock the party world, trust me! Christine has a ton of gorgeous colorways and will even customize colors for you.
