Operation Shower – Handmade Vintage Military Shower

This past week was busy as usual, but I had the opportunity to change things up a bit by assisting with an Operation Shower. Operation Shower is a non profit organization that honors expecting mothers whom spouses are active military. This organization plans and executes exquisite baby showers for deserving families. Not only do these women enjoy a baby shower, they are gifted the necessities for beginning a family. Often times, these soon to be mothers are far from family and sometimes alone due to deployment. Operation Shower allows for networks and support systems to develop. It truly is the best party!

This Operation Shower event invited several event planners and stylists to design and execute a table for guests to enjoy. I was one of those lucky ladies! We were each given a set of gorgeous vintage military inspired printables designed by Paper and Pigtails and a theme, Vintage Military Shower. For this table to represent my style, I went all DIY. I’m a lover of handmade decor and couldn’t imagine styling a table without handmade goodies.

For my table runner I chose to use piece of red fabric, embellished the ends with gold twine and anchors. Chair backers were handcrafted using fabric from Carousel designs and my handmade tissue tassels.

My centerpieces were elevated using a standard shipping box covered with printable papers and washi tape.

Flower vases were crafted using heavy nautical rope and adorned with gold anchors or planes.

To add a little more color, printable paper was assembled to fit around a glass vase and filled with hydrangeas.

There were so many gorgeous tables at this event!
