Cinco de Mayo is such a fun reason to have friends over to enjoy tasty food and tequila drinks! Seeing that I really wanted to test my cocktail making skills, I thought I’d put a new spin on the classic paloma recipe. A paloma is traditionally a tequila drink made with 2 ingredients – Tequila (of course) and grapefruit flavored soda. My spin on the traditional beverage uses guava paste and grapefruit juice! If you like really sweet cocktails, this ain’t your jam. Its pretty tart considering the fact that we are using freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice (one of my faves)! If you’re looking for more tasty treats try making these churro cupcakes!
I love how vibrant and summery the color of this drink is! The combination of the pink grapefruit juice and guava syrup create the most gorgeous coral colored paloma.
