Gals, it’s finally starting to feel like fall here in FL! I always have mixed feelings during this time of year, and I”ll tell you why.

I love the change of seasons, but I know that just right around the corner there are weeks and weeks of pure craziness. It’s crazy because of the holidays ( i.e. Thanksgiving and Christmas ) and this time of year is crazy in the shop. Believe it or not, New Year’s Eve is a big deal for The Flair Exchange. Maybe it’s because we designed those super cute Pop Fizz Clink balloons or maybe it’s because we’re so emphatic about the holiday. Regardless I know the next few months are going to fly by.

In efforts to prepare for holiday parties we’ll attend, I decided to make these super cute watercolor coasters to hand out as hostess gifts. I really like giving handmade gifts, but my schedule doesn’t always allow for it. Often times a bottle of wine will just have to do. Want to make these as hostess gifts, or to keep for yourself? Follow the steps below to make your own!

Watercolor Beverage Coasters – DIY

Materials:

Birch wood squares, water color paints, water color paper, Mod Podge, Cork with adhesive backing

Instructions:

Step 1: Start by creating fun water color patterns using a color-way you adore. We went with colors similar to our Sugar-Plum products, because we love this color-way for fall. It’s vibrant and fun!

Step 2: Trace birch squares on your watercolored artwork and cut out.

Step 3: Using Mod Podge adhere watercolor squares to birch and paint a top coat. Allow top coat to dry and repeat several times.

Step 4: Trace squares on cork, removing backing and adhere to opposite sides of birch squares.
