I am really excited to introduce Melinda as our guest contributor today. I had the privilege of meeting Melinda a year ago at a blogging meet and greet function. Melinda is the Chief Marketing Officer for Good 2 Go events and is also the product developer for Persona Gift Pail. Pssst… There is a giveaway at the end;)
I am thrilled to be guest blogging for The Flair Exchange. I have been entertaining and hosting events for many years, in addition to exhibiting at various tradeshows. The Flair Exchange’s poms have been such a huge hit. So when deciding on what I would write about, I could not resist to do a photo shoot and incorporate a few of the Flair’s products. They are perfect for a patriotic picnic or party.
Flowers, right? No, these are poms…made you look! Watch your guests do a double take too! Poms are one of my favorite event special touches! They can be used in many ways; either as a large stand alone centerpiece, hanging décor, napkin rings or simply made to look like flowers. I love to use them as an alternative to flowers, like I did here for my patriotic themed picnic. To make this centerpiece, I used small white poms that were attached to floral wire. Here is a tutorial on how to make the poms . I then placed them in a painted red terra cotta pot that was filled with silver tinsel. It was then embellished with a blue and white striped bow.
When serving drinks for your picnic, here are adorable 9 oz. red, white and blue ruffled party cups, NEW from the Flair Exchange. . They are hand crafted in the US with bleed proof paper. These are just so festive!
What 4th of July celebration would be complete without a little US nostalgia? These glass Coke bottles add just that! Of course the Coca Cola brand is all over the world, but it all started here in the US, in Atlanta. As for event styling, these Coke bottles have such a nice look to them. For an added touch I created these patriotic printables for you to enjoy. Get your printable.
Now, what about that picnic blanket? Here is one that I created many years ago, from scraps of fabric that I used to make my children’s custom clothes when they were toddlers. I didn’t have a pattern, I just sewed 4” squares together. This has now become a family heirloom. I don’t have the time anymore to do big projects like this and I look for alternatives. Here is a nice blanket from Picnic Time . It is very convenient and it folds up into a tote! This would be great to keep year around in your vehicle.
For those wine lovers out there, here is an elegant handcrafted picnic basket wine service for 2 from Picnic Time. This basket would be perfect for sitting under the stars watching the fireworks on the 4th.
As for fireworks…check out these rockets by Brenda Ponnay from the AlphaMom blog. These would make great 4th of July decorations or a fun party activity for children. Fill them with red, silver & blue metallic confetti from The Flair Exchange.
It’s those special touches that add the “Flair” to any event! Enjoy & make it happen!
