Green and Gold Tailgate Throwdown

I recently held a tailgating/watch party at my home for the  USF vs Connecticut game.  Although USF didn’t win, we still partied in style.  I’m not a huge football fan but I do enjoy the socialization that occurs at tailgating and viewing parties.

I am also a sucker for contests and just couldn’t help myself when I heard about this tailgate throw-down being sponsored by some of my favorite party ladies.  Great Gatherings, Lauren Mckinsey, and she’s knda crafty.

I chose to keep things pretty simple and emphasize the green and gold in the food and decor.

Our guests enjoyed self serve crockpot Carolina style BBQ sandwiches.  I loved this because it really kept the work load low for me.  It was also a very cost effective menu item.

I wanted to offer salty and sweet miniature items for snacking during the game.  These items were a combination of store bought and homemade.  Guests had the selection of whoopie pies, cake pops, peanuts, buttered popcorn, carmel corn, salted pretzels, along with gold gumballs and andies mints.

The little green snack cups were created by Kori at Paper and Pigtails.  These were great, Kori emailed the file and I printed them on to translucent paper.  Since I wanted a very specific green, opting for a printable snack cup was ideal.

Michele at Intrigue Design created the BULLS banner for me.

My necklace was made by Heather at No plain T’s.

I created the mini pom garland with green and gold tissue paper.  The USF letters I wrapped with yarn in corresponding colors. I am looking forward to all of the other tailgate throw-down entries!
